(water)color my world

A couple of months ago, I did something I’ve wanted to do for a while…I went out and purchased some watercolor paints and a pad. Why the hesitation? While I’ve always considered myself a creative person, I’ve never considered myself an artist, and painting/drawing always seemed firmly placed in the latter category.

I’ve had a couple of opportunities to play around with them, and posted my latest attempt on my Instagram feed yesterday…

I’m still at the very early stages of experimenting with them…but I’m having fun!

I started a watercolor board on Pinterest to gather inspiration…

Does anyone else ♥ buying new art supplies as much as I do??

It’s a sickness, really.
🙂

Happy Weekend!

Well done! I love to paint and usually use paper and tempera because it is the least expensive. I do have water colours and recently treated myself to some nice acrylics. I picked up some prestretched canvas at a dollar store. I'm sure it isn't great quality but it gave me the chance to try something new. I also have pastels, conte pencils and charcoal. I LOVE art supplies.

I know exactly how you feel. I think I've made the same statement in fact...I too have always felt that I'm a creative person, but not an artist. I wonder why we think that way? Others would probably tell us different. I love walking around an art store, and buying new supplies feeds the inspiration and excitement for the next project.
