good design in the everyday

I recently came across a piece of research that makes a bold claim: Surrounding ourselves with well-designed everyday objects has the power to make us more content, calmer, more inspired, and can have the same effect on us as looking at a beautiful piece of art. In short, well-designed objects make us happy. As a blogger and lover of good design, I couldn’t agree more.

Design star David Bromstad has partnered with Coffee-mate and Target, making a splash with limited edition bottle designs inspired by coffee and Coffee-mate. What I love most about this collaboration is the simple fact that by purchasing these limited-edition Coffee-mate products, you can easily add a dose of beauty and inspiration to your morning routine. The new David Bromstad designed bottles (French Vanilla and Hazelnut flavors) will be available exclusively at Target stores nationwide.

Around my own home, I often try to display and utilize everyday goods that, subtly but definitely, inspire me.

Whether it’s office supplies, paper goods, cleaning products, or yes, even my coffee creamer, adding a dose of good design and beauty to my everyday inspires, encourages, and even energizes me and my day.
