This recipe makes a LOT of cookies. I gave away some to friends, sent my husband to work with a couple dozen, and still had some leftover for us to enjoy.

After making my dough, I made the cookies into balls and rolled them in even more sprinkles to add plenty of festive color. I used Christmas sprinkles for these, but change them up depending on the occasion!

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes 10 seconds
Total Time 27 minutes 10 seconds

Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks room temperature unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sprinkles, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Using a mixer, cream together sugars and butter, for about 3-4 minutes, or until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs and vanilla, and mix until combined.
  5. Slowly add in your dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Add in your chocolate chips and about half of your sprinkles.
  7. Form dough into balls, and roll your cookies in the sprinkles. Place on baking sheets, approximately 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes (I used two sheet pans and rotated them about halfway through). Remove from oven, let cool on sheets for a couple minutes, and then finish cooling on wire racks.

Notes

I used a combination of light and dark brown sugars, but if you only have one or the other, just use what you have!

My cookies took about the full 12 minutes to cook, but definitely start checking them after 10 minutes.

I got 4 dozen cookies from this recipe, but if you prefer larger cookies you'll get a few less!

As I mention in the recipe, I made about four dozen medium-sized cookies, if you like your cookies a bit larger, you’ll probably get closer to three dozen.

These can be stored in an airtight container for several days, but I highly doubt they’ll last that long!
