confetti glasses

I love crafting handmade gifts for friends and family, and now that spring is approaching, and bringing with it various bridal showers, weddings, and housewarmings, I’m so excited to share one of my go-to gifts with you all!

How to Paint Glasses

These confetti glasses are inexpensive and easily customizable-choose your colors to match any decor style. And, because presentation is everything, I’ll share my not-so-secret secret for getting your glasses sparkly and shiny and ready to gift!

Materials:
drinking glasses
paint
paintbrush or cotton swab

Step 1: Gather your materials and wash your glasses. I used glass tumblers from Target, but any kind of glassware will do! I found the paints at a local craft store, and chose paint that specifically said they could be used on glass.

Be sure to read the curing instructions, though. These paints require a 21 day cure time or they can be baked in the oven to speed up the process.

You need a clean and spotless surface to paint, so I use  Finish® Quantum Max™ on all my glassware before (and after!)  painting. Finish® products make my glasses positively shine and are the perfect complement to all my glass and dish crafting projects.

Step 2: Take your first color, and dab small dots onto your glass. I decided to go only halfway up the glass, starting from the bottom. When you’re finished with one color, clean your brush, let it dry, and begin your next color.

Step 3: Let dry and cure, run in the dishwasher with Finish® Quantum Max™ to get them gift-giving ready, and you’re done!
