crepe paper necklace (a tutorial)

Several weeks ago, I bought a few rolls of crepe paper streamers for a wreath idea I wanted to try. The wreath turned out great (will share soon), but I had lots of leftover crepe paper when I was finished. Being a huge fan of all the rosette jewelry out there, I wanted to create something similiar…

I LOVE how this turned out…and it’s so easy to do!

Materials Needed:
Chain with clasp
Crepe paper streamers
Hot glue

Charm with flat base (see pic below)
Step 1: Cut three lengths of crepe paper: 8″, 6″ and 5″. Fold your 8″ length in half lengthwise, and fold your 6″ and 5″ lengths in thirds, also lengthwise.

Step 2: Fold each length fan-style into a circular shape, use hot glue to hold. A picture should help explain this better than I can:)

(to better show the technique, I did not fold these lengths….your’s will be folded, though!)

Step 3: Hot glue crepe circles to each other, with the smallest on the top.
Glue your crepe paper rosette to your charm, string onto your chain, and voila!

My next one will be in some fun black and white polka dotted crepe paper streamers that I found…

Let me know if you try one of these–would love to see it!
