Christmas Peanut Butter Balls {An Easy No Bake Christmas Treat}

Sharing a recipe for Christmas peanut butter balls-an easy holiday treat that is perfect for gift giving and holiday get togethers!

I’m so excited to share this recipe with you all today. I’ve been making peanut butter balls for years, and while they’ve always been the perfect holiday treat, the addition of sprinkles makes they even more festive.

Peanut butter balls are the perfect treat for kids to help with; there’s lots of hands on work, and no baking! The hardest part is coating the balls with chocolate, and, after lots of trial and error, I’ve finally figured out the easiest and most effective way to do this.

I use half regular peanut butter and half natural peanut butter to make them slightly less sweet. You can always use all regular peanut butter, all natural, or a combination!

Here are the  peanut butter balls all ready to go! I always stick mine in the refrigerator for a bit before coating with chocolate.

This recipe makes about three dozen, but you’ll get more or less out of it depending on how big you make the balls.

You can use a double boiler to melt your chocolate (or even the microwave), but I’ve found that a glass bowl inside of a saucepan works perfectly!

I’ve always found that using just chocolate chips makes my chocolate too thick. You can add small amounts of oil (I used canola) to thin out the chocolate. Start with a teaspoon and work up from there, if needed.

There are many ways to coat your peanut butter balls in chocolate; I’ve found that placing one in the chocolate and using a fork to coat works well. Tap the fork against the side of the bowl to help remove excess chocolate.

Aren’t they DREAMY!!?? Adding the paraffin wax to the chocolate gives these peanut butter cups a glossy finish when they harden. It also helps to keep the chocolate solid at room temperature. If you prefer, of course, you can definitely omit it.
