canvas art-take two

A couple of week’s ago, I shared some DIY canvas art that I created from some 10×10 canvases. I loved the results, so I decided to go a bit bigger and took out a 16×20 canvas that was hanging around looking for a purpose…

It took about 30 minutes and minimal supplies. Looking at it, I may go back and add a bit more white at some point…or I may not. I’m very happy with it for now, and love how it ties in all the colors of my family room.

First up, grab your materials…

Choosing colors was super hard for me, but I ended up going with shades of blue and green, with a red, light yellow and white for contrast.

Next, start putting paint on your canvas…

You can do this in so, so many different ways…just experiment to see what you like best! I used the foam brush for the most part, and just slicked on some paint, trying to fill the canvas…

All my color is down, last step-add some white. If you find your paint is getting muddy and blending together more than you like, just wait for the canvas to dry, then go back and add more.

What do you think? Are you as big a fan of canvas art as I seem to be becoming? I’m thinking of hosting a canvas art linky party sometime in the near future…let me know if you’d be interested in participating!

Love the canvas!!! It looks fabulous and just perfect where you have it displayed. You wouldn't happen to have the names of the colors you used, would you?....

I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! I might be doing a canvas project this weekend, but you are right, the hardest part is deciding on colors.

Thanks, Jillian! The hoop is actually chalkboard fabric! Must faster than embroidery and easy to change up!:) Have a great day! xo
