You can uninstall that game or log out of your social media accounts. It may seem easier said than done, but you need to make an effort to do the right thing. 

When you manage your time by doing what needs to be done at the right time, your brain will get used to the changes, which will help you to easily stay on track.

If your friends or family are the distractors, inform them that you value their presence, but you won’t be able to spend so much time with them since you have other things that you need to attend to within a time frame.

2) Use a daily/routine planner

Get a daily planner to help you schedule the necessary tasks that need to be done daily, weekly, or monthly. Planners are good time management tools that are ideal for those struggling with procrastination.

3) Avoid multitasking 

Multitasking enables you to do different tasks at the same time. However, the issue is that multitasking is not an effective time management technique. It affects your optimal focus on a particular task because you are doing many things simultaneously.

4) Learn to say no

If you are spending so much time on unimportant things while neglecting the important things—then you are saying yes to unseriousness. Take control of your life by saying no. Say no to spending so many hours hanging out with friends. Say no to playing that game or spending so many hours on social media.

5) Set “SMART” goals

Ensure your goals follow the SMART goals setting. Smart goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. If you want to effectively manage your time, limit how often you do overwhelming tasks.

You can also break down bigger goals into smaller ones to help you easily carry out your tasks. For instance, rather than having an unrealistic goal of writing up to 7000 words daily for your ebook, or 10 articles for your beginner blog, write a lesser amount of words daily.

Doing this can improve the efficiency of your output since you are not overwhelming yourself.
